I have schizophrenia. I am not schizophrenia. I am not my mental illness. My illness is a part of me.

Jonathan Harnisch
About This Quote

I do not believe that schizophrenia is the only mental illness. There are many people who still suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. I like to say that “We are not our mental illness.” We all have struggles and weaknesses. The important thing is to embrace our realities and not hide who we are behind the curtain of our illnesses.
